Last night I read about the "pepsi challenge" and how sip tests weren't actually accurate to describe a taste. Which, when you think about it, really makes sense. When you take a sip of something, it's different than when you sit down and drink it over the course of a day. Pink is a nice colour. I wear it occasionally, and it's okay to look at but if my bedroom were painted cotton candy pink I think I would lose my mind.
Beans and rice is a good meal, but if you had it every day it would get really bland. And everyone hates the "It's a small world" song because the catchy tune is nice for the first ten seconds, then it gets stuck in your head all day and you just want to kill something. Even as I write this, the thought of being exposed to this song for more than two seconds is a little more than slightly painful.
I also read about how the packaging of a product will affect the way some people like it. I didn't really understand this part, apparently we judge on a subconscious level. We think the thing in the nicer package will taste better. Maybe that's why more people are nice to the ones wearing pretty clothes. I find I'll be attracted to a certain kind of person depending on what they're wearing. If you put me in a room with a "prep", a "punk" and a "gangsta", I would more than likely talk to the "punk" because I make positive associations with his clothes, or his hair or his piercings.
Similarly, if you were to give me jelly out of an intricate pretty glass jar, I would probably prefer that one than the same jelly out of a plastic tub.
People think the packaging has an effect on the taste.
