Attempted Comentaries

Savannah College of Art and Design has quite a large summer program for high schoolers. Once you get past the STRICTLY enforced no-associating-with-members-of-the-opposite-sex rules, its really a very college-like experience. The classes are small, nine or ten people, maybe fifteen in the larger classes.

Auto mechanics is actually a lot more complicated than one might think. For as little as mechanics are paid and as low a standing they have in this society, they really have to know a lot. Not only do they have to go through school, but aspiring mechanics need to have years of experience in the shop before they can take certain tests (ASEs) to certify them to work on different systems in a car. The ASE test isn't required, but it would help a lot in the paycheck realm, maybe help pay off all the loans you had to take out to stay in school while society was telling you to get a real job and make some money. God forbid they ever have to get a facial while attempting to change the oil.

For all the talk there used to be (and still is) of space travel and exploration, the past twenty years hasn't uncovered much in the way of proving or disproving scifi novels. It is understandable, however, that there hasn't been much interplanetary action of late. Space travel and research takes billions out of the national budget for every project. Money that needs to be spent here on earth before we go on a "wild goose chase" through space.
Even if humans did find some sort of "intelligent" life elsewhere, it would cause all kinds of religious riots about the end of the world, Earth would have to put together a United Planets. Humans can't even be civil to each other. Mother Earth just isn't ready for company right now.

So a one-passenger airplane coming too close to the pentagon is a matter of national security but having the names of secret service agents leaked to the press is ok? Years ago when all of this started, the American people were promised by their president that everything in his power would be done to protect our nation's security and anyone who took part in terrorist activity would be fired/deported/tortured for information immediately.
What's the difference between Karl Rove and the Rosenbergs? The government could still function without Ethel.
