Perhaps part of the reson the 2004 election came so close was that the voters had very different preceptions of reality.
The 9/11 Commission reported that there was no evidence Iraq had been supporting Al Qaeda, 3/4 of Bush supporters believe just the opposite (30% of Kerry supporters also believed Iraq was supporting Al Qaeda).
The nation's division also exists in a lack of understanding of the world around them (57% of Bush supporters thought the World favoured Bush's "re"-election while 69% of Kerry supporters predicted that the world would be going for Kerry).
And some more stuff on difference of opinion and the Bushies trying not to pay attention to the fact that this war of their might have been a mistake so they're going to try to live in a Non Reality-Based world like the dumb reds they are.
