Grandma Hanrahan's Banana Quick Bread

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 large bananas mashed
Nuts, if desired

Grease bottom of a loaf pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together sugar and margarine. Blend in eggs. Add flour and baking soda, then mashed bananas (and nuts). Pour into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for an hour. Bread is ready when the batter is baked in the center and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry.
