The curious incident of the dog in the night time
Reading a murder mystery through the eyes of an autistic teenager is one of the most interesting things you will ever do.
Not only is the plot good, but it's more in the way its presented.
This is a kid who does pages and pages worth of Algebra II work in his head to calm himself down when there are too many strangers in a room.
His random musings on concepts from what makes a day good to theories about space-time make total sense but I know I would never have thought of these things on my own.
Although his total lack of spirituality makes him seem heartless at times, the storytelling in this novel makes him very easy to identify with.
I kept comparing him in my mind to a kid I knew in primary school with a mild autism-like thing. I think I understand some of his quirks a little better now.
